When you apply for a course or interact with us
When you apply for or register to attend a course or program at Satya Sadhna Kendra, we collect personal information including your name, date of birth, gender, nationality, residential address, language preferences, phone numbers, email address, educational and occupational background (including designation, department and employer), and emergency contact details. We also ask for your father's or husband's name and your marital status, whether a relative or companion has attended or is attending a course and how they are related to you, and, for returning students, your previous courses. We also require you to upload a recent photograph and provide details of a government-issued photo identification document for identity verification, participant records, campus security, and statutory compliance. To ensure a safe and supportive environment during on-campus retreats, our application also collects relevant background information regarding your physical and mental health, medical history, current medications, prior meditation or spiritual practices, use of intoxicants, and, where applicable, pregnancy status.
By submitting an application or otherwise providing your details to the Kendra, you explicitly consent to Satya Sadhna Kendra collecting, storing, and using your information—including your photograph, identification details, and health disclosures—not only to evaluate your application and care for you during your stay, but also for broader organizational, administrative, and operational purposes. These include managing campus logistics, printing participant admission records or ID cards, maintaining long-term student, volunteer (seva), and contribution records, communicating important updates, informing you about upcoming courses, shivirs, daily sittings, events, and Kendra initiatives (via email, SMS, phone, or WhatsApp), and complying with applicable legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
How your information is managed and shared
Your information and uploaded records are maintained in secure electronic databases and internal record-keeping systems managed by Satya Sadhna Kendra. Access to personal, photographic, and health-related information is granted to authorized Kendra personnel—including trustees, teachers (Acharyas), management committees, course coordinators, administrative staff, medical or wellness support volunteers, and authorized technical service providers—across our centres to facilitate smooth operations, campus security, and participant care.
Satya Sadhna Kendra does not sell or rent your personal data to commercial third parties. We retain applicant and student records for as long as deemed necessary to support ongoing student participation, ensure the safety and discipline of our courses, fulfill administrative functions, and comply with legal obligations. While we implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your data, no digital platform or electronic transmission is completely infallible, and you provide your information at your own discretion and risk. We may also disclose information when required by law, government authorities, or medical personnel in an emergency, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of the Kendra, its participants, or the public.
